shaped board, but interpreted in the style of Andrea Guarneri. In this baroque version, the veneered spruce core fingerboard and the nailed, set-on neck are self-evident. This fingerboard and the use of red willow for back and sides make the instrument as light as a feather while at the same time providing a powerful tone rich in colour and nuances.

"Prince Khevenhueller" Stradivarius from 1733, Jehudi Menuhin's violin. The original was lying on my workbench in 1999 in the Amsterdam violin-making workshop where I was working at the time. A rare stroke of luck to be able to study the tonal and structural concept in detail!
